FRAMESplus - Fringe Analysis and Measurement System

Modal Analysis

With the "Free Boundary" function, rigid body motions and thermal influences are substantially reIn classical modal analysis, acceleration sensors are used to determine the dynamical behaviour of mechanical structures. This method is limited substantially in spatial resolution due to the size and mass of the sensors.

With holographic modal analysis, the sinestepping module of the FRAMESplus software is used to perform a completely automated measurement over a large frequency range and generate a Universal File as an input to the LMS CADA-X software package.

The data is analyzed in LMS CADA-X and the eigenmodes and -frequencies are extracted to form a mathematical model of the structure. For example, this model can be compared to results of finite element calculations.

  • modal analysis can be used with ESPI, FiberESPI and PulsESPI systems
  • automated testing over several frequency ranges
  • geometry input from TRICOLITE
  • multipanel measurement is possible
  • the cooperation between LMS and Steinbichler offers a wide range of virtual prototyping applications
